Visual Communication Services offers transcription (captioning) services to meet these needs. Transcribed text provides students with a visual written record of what is said in the class by the teacher and students.

This transcription communication is helpful for the student when:
• the teacher turns to write on the board,
• the teacher has an accentor
• or if lip reading is difficult. 

Students can take notes from the screen while simultaneously following the lecture. Vocabulary, grammar, and content are preserved in the transcript of the teacher’s instruction. Captioning technology in the education environment setting has seen phenomenal growth in recent years. In addition to the personnel, captioning services include all necessary equipment and software required for services.
